HOW TO BEAT INCREASE IN PETROL PRICES?

OVERVIEW

As a motorist you are obvously feeling how rising petrol prices squeezing  hard earned cash out of your pocket. Price for crude oil has finally jumped over that 'magic' threshold of $100 per barrell and our own Goverment seemes to be determined to finish poor motorist off with continuing increases in fuel duty.

This website has been devised to give you advise on how to beat price increses and  to help you  find cheaper petrol wherever you are in the UK.

It is far from being finished - at the moment we are only providing links to major petrol and deasel resellers in the UK, but we will be constantly updating this site and are looking to build a system where you can just enter your postcode and get prices from all the petrol stations in your area

To look for a specific petrol station in your area just click on the name of the petrol reseller on the lef and  you will be redirected to a srvice station or a supermarcet finder, where you can type in your postcode and it will show you all the information for your area.

SOME HANDY TIPS

While you obviously can not force your local garage to cut petrol prices for you, there are still some ways to slash the costs:

1. Check your car - do not fully fill up, as it adds weight to your vehicle. Remove roof racks or anything that can add drag. Always check that your tyres are pumped up to the correct pressure. Switvh off air-conditioning unless nesessery. These measures can save you 10-15% of your fuel consumption.

2. Efficient driving - do not accelerate or brake too hard, drive smoothly and think about your road position.

3. Watch out for special offers and promotions - like the one at Sainsbury's: you get 5p off  litre of fuel when you spend 50 in store. This promotion has currentlu ended, but they do it every few months. Also, get a loyalty card for your local supermarket - you will get points for filling up that you can then redeem for cash or products. We will also let you know about any discounts we hear of.
